Weatherwax Lookout Site: The shorter, flatter route to the fire lookout site via FR 2371 is open! This is the route I will use for The Olympians Hiking Club day hike on August 5.

Byles Lookout Site: The timber harvest on FR T5000 in the South Chehalis State Forest is finally completed! The lookout tower artifacts were protected by a “Save Trees” area. I will plan to lead an Olympians Hiking Club day hike here in the autumn (before or after deer and elk hunting seasons).
